Malvern School District ROCKS!!Michelle Moore, Instructional Facilitator, and Brandi Smith, 5th Grade ELA teacher recently collaborated to create a Book Tasting for 5th grade students to creatively promote a positive reading culture for students at Wilson Intermediate. Moore and Smith implemented the learning engagement by selecting six novels that will be integrated into Literature Circles. The students had the opportunity to sample each of the books during a tasting rotation, make notes about specific interests and prioritize which book they would be most interested in reading. The goal was to spark reading interests in a creative way, offer students choice in their reading selections and immerse them in rich discussions about their book
