SUMMARY:  Virtual Arkansas is seeking to hire an experienced candidate to serve as adjunct instructor for Medical Terminology for the 2021-2022 school year. The individual hired will be asked to provide instruction, guidance, and personalized student support in a digital, online environment. The adjunct teacher of this course will monitor student learning, provide feedback, and utilize online learning and engagement strategies to support student attainment of content knowledge and to prepare students for possible certification exams.     



  • Applicants must possess a valid Arkansas teaching license. Licensure codes accepted:  611, 625

  • Experience teaching health science

  • Proficient computer skills.



  • Providing instruction and monitoring student progress.

  • Collaborate with all stakeholders (e.g. students, parents, colleagues, etc.) for the purpose of establishing and maintaining positive relationships while focusing on high expectations and continuous improvement for student learning.

  • Integrate IEP, 504, and/or ELL/LEP goals or modifications into lessons as applicable.

  • Planning and preparation of digital lessons

  • Provide limited Zoom sessions per week to provide face-to-face interaction with the students to answer questions and provide support.

  • Integrate instructor-made videos each week to support student learning.

  • Participate in Virtual Arkansas’ How to Teach Online Course prior to the start of the 2021-2022 school year.  Candidates will receive 6 hours of professional development for this asynchronous online class

  • For adjunct instructors lacking Virtual Arkansas online teaching experience, participate in a one-day summer training. 

  • Participate in evening professional development sessions as needed during the school year or as requested for point-in-time training and/or support from the Virtual Arkansas Adjunct Support Specialist or designee.

  • Effectively utilize the learning management system and student information system to communicate with and provide assignment and assessment feedback to students.

  • Provide intervention and support to students as needed and required.

  • Maintaining the virtual classroom environment.

  • Maintaining professional responsibilities. 

  • Completing other duties consistent with online, digital teaching.

  • This position will be employed through the Dawson Education Cooperative, with the salary being aligned to the Virtual Arkansas’ adjunct per-student formula.

Dawson Education Service Cooperative is now accepting resumes for a HIPPY Home-Based Coordinator.

Educational Qualifications: A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, elementary education, family or adult education, social work or a related field. If the degree is not education related, the coordinator must have a minimum of 24 training hours in early childhood development.

Job Summary:

• Managing the HIPPY program in accordance with the terms specified in the contract

• Recruitment and selection of eligible HIPPY children/families and home visiting staff

• Ongoing supervision and training of home visitors, which should include the planning and execution of an appropriate staff development plan

• Making three home visits annually to observe each visitor 

• Planning and executing group meetings that include the provision of an enrichment activity. Six Per County per year

Digital Learning Support Specialist

Position Summary

The Digital Learning Support Specialist works with a state team to support the planning, implementation, and evaluation of digital learning environments in Arkansas. These environments can range from integration of digital components for instruction, to a blended model, to a fully online model. The Digital Learning Support Specialist has expertise in: emerging online learning practices and pedagogy that allow for active learning; effective content authoring and lesson design methods that best serve digital learning; and strategies in helping educators transform instruction into evidence-based student-centered practices. This position provides operational support to The Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, Arkansas Education Service Cooperatives, school districts, and other state agencies (as directed) in the ever-changing landscape of digital learning and instruction. The person in this position interacts with media production workgroups, LMS consultants, technology solution experts, pedagogical experts, curriculum design experts, and educators around the globe. More importantly this person will on a daily basis support Arkansas educators, schools, and community stake-holders to positively impact student learners.

Early Childhood Special Education Teacher



  • Assists Early Childhood Coordinator and evaluation team with evaluation of students who fail Early Childhood screening.

  • Provide direct instructional services to preschool students placed in the program for delays in one or more developmental areas, including:

    • Cognition

    • Motor

    • Self-Help

    • Socialization

    • Communication

  • Develops and implements IEP for all students placed in the program, utilizing due process procedures with direct student instruction in individual and/or group settings.

  • Collects data and monitors each child’s progress.

  • Prepares materials for lessons.

  • Develops training programs for students in a home based setting.

  • Assists in developmental screenings throughout the cooperative region.

  • Complies with standards of the local school district.

  • Maintains confidentiality concerning each child.

  • Adheres to job descriptions as defined by the ADE Program Standards.


  • Master's degree (M.Ed.) in Special Education (including Preschool Special Education); or B.A. in Early Childhood or related field with an Additional Licensing Plan; or BA in appropriate field with a Special Education 3-4 or B-K Integrated designation on teacher certificate.

  • Knowledge of how to evaluate and complete therapy with preschool special education

  • Past experience working with children in special education and/or preschool special education preferred 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The employee will be required to lift heavy educational supplies and/or files daily inside and outside of sites. The employee will be required to travel daily to multiple sites. The employee will be required to travel to daily sites with different types of weather conditions unless a district is closed due to inclement weather. The employee could be sitting in a student sized chair or on a floor completing therapy with a student or group of students. The employee will be required to be able to bend, stoop, walk, and stand for extended periods of time. The employee will be required at times to work with students that include both indoor and outdoor settings that require physical activity to model gross motor activities to improve gross motor progress.
